Beginners' guide to developing taxonomies (Question)

Can anyone suggest a good reference on the development of taxonomies? Web or print sources are equally welcome.

Thanks,

Should we assume that you've done a bunch of Google searches and are now after sources that people have actually used? If not, then Google served up this tasty-looking item:

Your assumption is correct, and I found the item you mentioned.

There is so much crap intermingled with the good, valid stuff out there on the Web, that I was hoping people could point me to the good stuff. Sometimes it's difficult knowing what's bad or good if you're a newbie!

Thanks,
Liz

Liz -- I see a few pages on taxonomies mentioned in the index of my copy of .

While I can't vouch for its coverage of taxonomies, the book's overall reputation makes the material worth checking out.

If you post your inquiry on the SIGia list of ASIS&T you'll likely get good replies. It's a public list: http://mail.asis.org/mailman/listinfo/sigia-l
